Las Palmas de Gran Canaria University (Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC)) is a university that has a wide range of degrees in all major areas of knowledge, to offer comprehensive training to those who enter the university, in a commitment to innovation, quality, culture and internationalization.
Together with the Technologies, Management and Biogeochemistry Research Group from ULPGC, we have participated in the MARCET project (Macaronesian Network for the transfer of knowledge and technology – interregional and multidisciplinary – to protect, watch and monitor cetaceans), to study the distribution and concentration of microplastics in the waters of Macaronesia. Ths is a clear example of how projects such as Sailing Living Lab can help to transfer and develop a device that is part of the scientific community and needs to be tested before putting it on the market.
Diego de Miguel and Tania Montoto appeared in Itsas Tantak, a radio show on Onda Vasca, a regional radio station from the Basque Country, where they explained the project and the collaboration between Sailing Living Lab and the ULPGC. Listen to the full interview here.
